The Dullahan is a monster in the series. ==Characteristics== Dullahans are headless undead knights wielding a deadly spiked flail and bearing a shield with a hideous screaming face on it. The knights are heavily armoured, wearing a breastplate, gauntlets, and greaves all made of plate over suits of chain mail, faulds of brass scales, and they wear ragged red capes hanging from their shoulders. Their armour offers them a high degree of protection against various ailments and some defence against offensive spells. The knights will strengthen themselves and their allies by casting Oomph and psyche themselves up before unleashing vicious strikes with their flails. They are often found as foot soldiers in the armies of Demon Lords. Starting with XI, the headless horseman and its kin began appearing, as well, making them closer to its mythological inspiration. ==Appearances== ===DQ8=== {{DQ8Enemy |name=Dullahan |kanji=デュラハーン |romanji=Deyurahān |sprite= |hp=335 |mp=24 |exp=378 |gold=48 |attack=237 |defense=265 |agility=109 |bestiaryNumber=#207 |family=Undead |description=Talented and trusted monsters that serve as guardians. From this game onward, it is the first monster of its kind to be encountered before dark dullahan. ===DQ11=== Some dullahans participated in the fall of Dundrasil, where one attempts to stop Irwin, Eleanor, and a young Jade from leaving with the Luminary, but is stopped by Irwin. ====Vicious version==== ===DQMJ=== clear ===Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2=== clear ===DQM3=== {{DQM3Enemy |name=Dullahan |kanji= デュラハーン |romanji=Deyurahān |icon= |family= |hp=1,320 |mp=400 |attack=500 |defense=590 |wisdom=670 |agility=480 |bestiary=#475 |rank=C |in-game-description=Headless knights from the depths of the underworld that prowl about night after night, ever in search of their vanished noggins. It is said that when it stops riding or calls out someone's name, they will die. The dullahan is believed to be repelled by golden objects. It is believed to be the embodiment of the Celtic god Crom Dubh. ==Gallery==
<gallery> DQX Dullahan.jpg|A dullahan in X DQXI Dullahan.jpg|XI polygon model DQXI Vicious dullahan.jpg|A vicious dullahan Dullahan DQMJ DS.png|Monsters: Joker model Dullahan DQMJ2 DS.png|Monsters: Joker 2 model DQMBRV Dullahan.png|Battle Road Victory cut-in DQMBRV Dullahan1.png DQR Dullahan.png|Rivals card </gallery>
==Related monsters== *Dark dullahan *Hell's gatekeeper            fr:Décapitête
