==Characteristics==
The Equinox is based on the mythological [[Wikipedia:Kirin|Kirin]] (麒麟), a fabled horse with the head and scales of a dragon. Known as the Black Star, these [[Beast family|equine]] monsters have a sinister colour scheme, having solid white eyes, black body scales with teal scales covering the flank and shoulders, and hooves that are surrounded by a ghostly blue aura. Equinox's name originates from an astronomic term "Equinox", referring to the moment when the sun reaches one of two intersections between the [[wikipedia:Ecliptic|ecliptic]] and the [[wikipedia:celestial equator|celestial equator]] as well as "Equine" which means horse.
