The Fandangow is a recurring MFamilies in the DQSeries, first appearing in Dragon Quest V. It is an orange variant of the Cactiball reminiscent of sunset in the American southwest. Oddly enough, when it appeared in VII, it was colored blue rather than orange. This was not a mistake on the artist's part as the cerulean coloration was kept for that game's remake. ==Characteristics== This burly man-shaped spiked cactus loves to bulk up for added strength with the double up skill, ditching defense to scratch out extra damage in order to try and swing battles in its favour. Their eyes constantly glare at awe struck adventurers, distracting them just enough to be able to roll right in and attack, spikes facing forward. Fandangows constantly dance to their own boisterous cactus beat, but it's so compelling that opponents often can't help but join in, spending turns just swinging away alongside the spiky seducer. ==Appearances== ===DQ5=== ===DQ7=== ===DQ11=== {{DQ11Enemy |name=Fandangow |kanji=ダンスニードル |romanji=Dansunīdoru |bestiaryNumber=#093 |family=Nature |description=These music-mad monsters go wild-whenever they hear a rousing refrain, and won't stop dancing until every single spine has been shaken loose. |sprite= |hp=92 |mp=84 |attack=74 |defense=82 |agility=53 |exp=108 |gold=39 |spells=None |skills=Curls up into a spiky ball and begins to spin.
