Frizzle is a recurring offensive spell in the DQSeries. It is the intermediate-level spell between Frizz, Kafrizz, & Kafrizzle. It roasts a single enemy with a cannonball-sized flare, and is often learned by magi and mage-like characters. ==Appearances== ====== Stub ===DQ3=== The spell is learned by Mages and Sages at level 17. It torches an enemy for 6 MP, and deals 60~80 damage. The enemies leger-de-man, mimic, darth voodoo, and minidemon can use this spell against the Party 3. ===DQ3HD=== Frizzle is learned by Mages and Sages at level 17 if their wisdom exceeds 67, which will delay the process to level 18 if it does not. The spell costs 6 MP and deals up to 72~91 damage to one foe. When cast by monsters the spell will deal 52~62 damage to a party member. ===DQ4=== Maya learns this spell at level 19. It singes an enemy for 4 MP, and deals between 70~90 damage. The enemies minidemon, mimic, grim keeper, picuda, well wisher (in the remakes), and Aamon can use this spell against the Party 4. ===DQ5=== Torches an enemy for 4 MP and deals between 70~90 damage. {| cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" border="1" !style="background:#77479B; color: white;"|Name !style="background:#77479B; color: white;"|Level |- |Minidemon R||-- |- |Metal slime R||7 |- |King slime R||12 |- |Wax murderer R||12 |- |Samigina R||14 |- |Prestidigitator R||19 |- |Bianca Whitaker||20 |- |Nera Briscoletti||20 |- |Ghost R||30 |- |Wiz pip R||30 |} cannibox, mimic, gamigin, orobas, kon the Knight, and Ladja use it only as enemies. ===DQ6=== This spell is granted upon reaching the first rank of the Mage vocation. It is already known by Goober upon joining. It costs 4 MP to cast, and deals between 70~90 damage. Frizzle can also be cast by using the Fire claw as a tool in battle. The enemies darkgoyle, czargoyle, haunted mirror, cannibox, mimic, sorcerer, Spiegel, Murdaw, and Jamirus use this spell against the Party 6. ===DQ7=== This spell is granted by the fifth rank of the Mage vocation, and features the same parameters as before. It can be cast by the enemies pawmaturge, thuggler, delusionist, well wisher, wrecktor, sorcerer, The Time Being, Envoy, demon deacon, boogieing buttress, picuda, ginormoose, barbatos, dingbat, elepus, and the Fire Spirit. ===DQ8=== Jessica Albert learns this spell at level 21 and can cast it for 4 MP. It deals 56~72 base damage, and will deal 104~120 damage once her Wisdom surpasses 200. It can be used by the enemies minidemon, morrimp, magic dumbbell, and dark slime. ===DQ9=== Learned by Mages at level 30. Roasts a single enemy with a large fireball for 4 MP. It deals 70~80 base damage, and will steadily grow once the caster's Magical Might surpasses 100. The cap for this spell is 190~210 at 999 Magical Might. ===DQ10=== Mages will learn Frizzle once they reach level 28, with Dancers learning it at level 32. Damage is calculated as Magical Might x 0.305 + 32.9, raising the base range of 58~66 to 180~188 once the caster's Magical Might passes 496. It costs 6 MP to cast and has a range of 15 meters. ===DQ11=== Veronica 11 learns Frizzle at level 23 and the Luminary at level 25. It costs 8 MP to cast and hits for 54~70 damage before capping at 106~122 damage at 287 Magical Might. Veronica 11 launches Frizzle at the witch Krystalinda in two cutscenes. ===DQM=== Known as Blazemore in this game, it is an upgraded form of Blaze. Blaze will grow into Blazemore when the monster reaches at least level 13 with at least 46 MP and 64 intelligence. It can be learned naturally by 1EyeClown, demonite, fireweed, gateguard, Jamirus, lavaman, madcandle, metaly, mimic, Mirudraas and servant. Blazemore grows into Blazemost when the MFamilies reaches at least level 28 with at least 112 MP and 146 Intelligence. ===DQM2=== Blazemore now requires 116 Intelligence to learn and 263 Intelligence to upgrade. ===DQMJ=== Frizzle cost 4 MP to cast, has a 191~207 maximum damage range, and can be learned from: *Diabolist (10 points) *Fire (40 points) *Fire II (19 points) *Fire Fighter (47 points) *Frizz & Bang (36 points) *Frizz & Bang II (20 points) *Frizz & Woosh (50 points) *Frizz & Woosh II (28 points) *Frizz & Zap (38 points) *Frizz & Zap II (19 points) *Frizz & Zam (50 points) *Frizz & Zam II (30 points) *Hawkhart (28 points) *Hawkhart II (5 points) *Mage (17 points) *Muspell (42 points) ===DQMJ2=== Frizzle deals up to 202~208 damage and can no longer be learned from Diabolist or Muspell. It can now also be learned from: *Frizz & Sizz (36 points) *Frizz & Sizz II (20 points) ===Terry's Wonderland 3D & Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key=== Frizzle costs 5 MP, has a base range of 85~94 and will deal 209~231 once a MFamilies's Wisdom reaches 699. ===DQMJ3=== Frizzle has the same parameters as in the previous two games. ===DQM3=== Frizzle costs 5 MP and is learned via the Firebrand, Frizz Afficionado, Frizz Virtuoso, Hardliner, Hottie, Pyrotechnician, Smart Blazer, Smarty-Pants, Spicy Slasher, and Strong Speller talents. It has a base power of 90, and will increase as the monster's wisdom stat rises above 100; at 699 wisdom it will deal an average of 220 damage. ===DQH=== Frizzle is the second tier spell of Bianca and can be learned by investing 8 skill points. By charging up her Frizz spell for a short time, she can cast Frizzle for 7 MP, which shoots a larger fireball in front of her and will cause Bianca to jump backwards. As Bianca levels up more, she will be able to upgrade the spell and learn Kafrizz. ===DQH2=== Stub ===DQTact=== Frizzle is known naturally by Dragonlord and Prism peacock at level 1, can be learned by Clawcerer at level 18, Lump shaman at level 20, Beleth and Gremlin at level 22, and Cosmic chimaera, Drake slime, and Kon the Knight at level 24. It costs 16 MP to cast, has a range of three squares away from the caster in any direction, and inflicts moderate Frizz-type spell damage to a single enemy. It can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll. ===AHB=== Frizzle appears as a spell for Hadlar and the Luminary Leader. It is a long-range attack that deals magical Fire damage over a small area and raises the user's Fire damage for a short time. The main way to unlock the spell is by obtaining the Celestial Sceptre through Treasure Hunts or through the shop exchange. ===DQTreasures=== Frizzle can be learned by Slimes, Metal slimes, Silhouettes, King she-slimes, and Wight kings at level 18, upgrading from Frizz. It costs 9 MP to cast and deals moderate fire-element magic damage to a single target. Frizzle will automatically upgrade to Kafrizz at level 33. ===Super Smash Bros. Ultimate=== Frizzle appears as the Hero Smash's neutral special move in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is a more powerful version of the Frizz spell that is launched after a brief charge period, and can be charged up further to turn into Kafrizz. Frizzle costs 16 MP, and sends out two intertwining fireballs that deal 9% damage each. Each volley counts as a separate projectile, meaning opponents and block one and be hit with the other under the right circumstances. This is a reference to the spell's original depiction in Dragon Quest V, VI, and the 16-bit remake of III wherein it was animated as two shots of Frizz fired at the same enemy. ==Enemy versions== The enemy version of the spell dealt 52~62 damage, and remained that way until VIII, where it inflicted 42~49 damage. In IX, Frizzle deals 52~71 damage. ==In Other Languages== ==Battle Visuals== Clear <center> </center> ==Gallery== <center><gallery> BiancaSpell.png|Bianca casting Frizzle.
