Fuddle is a recurring debilitating spell in the DQSeries that was introduced in DQ3. It has a 100% chance to confuse a group of enemies, barring resistance, and costs 5 MP in all appearances. It is the diminutive form of Kafuddle and is often learned by Mages. ==Appearances== ===DQ2=== Fuddle itself does not appear in II per se, but the confusion status effect is present as one of the results of Hocus Pocus. ===DQ3=== Fuddle debuts as a proper spell in III, with Mages and Sages learning it at Level 27. The spell targets only a single enemy, somewhat limiting its usefulness compared to Snooze and Dazzle. If a Party 3 member is afflicted by the spell, they can be snapped out of it by striking them; this safety feature is limited to III, however. The enemies leger-de-man, goodybag, lump mage, lump shaman, hocus chimaera, Baramos, and Soul of Baramos can use this spell against the party. ===DQ3HD=== Fuddle is learned by Mages and Sages at level 27 if their wisdom exceeds 64 points. It costs 6 MP and has a 2/3rds chance to confuse one for for 2~3 turns before resistance is applied. ===DQ4=== Fuddle is learned by Borya at Level 30, and has the same range as before. The spell is more useful than in III, as only a handful of enemies have an immunity - even into the final areas and the bonus dungeon, Fungeon 4. The enemies fuddlestick, damselfly, pocus poppet, and axolotl can use this spell against the party. ===DQ5=== Fuddle's range has increased to affect a group of enemies now, greatly improving the spell's usability all the way to the end game. {| cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" border="1" !style="background:#77479B; color: white;"|Name !style="background:#77479B; color: white;"|Level |- |Goodybag R||-- |- |Pocus poppet R||2 |- |Minidemon R||10 |- |{{Grudgerigar R}||13 |- |Ghost R||15 |- |Jailcat R||22 |- |Slime R||22 |- |Chimaera R||31 |- |Harry||15 |- |Debora||22 |- |Sancho||32 |} Bag o' laughs, frighturn, and air duckt use this spell as enemies. ===DQ6=== Fuddle is learned by Ashlynn at Level 18. Other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 4 of the Mage vocation. The enemies goodybag, Dogmus, fuddleguana, and dreadstaff use this spell against the party. ===DQ7=== Fuddle is very scarce in the seventh game, only being learned by reaching rank 6 of the Goodybag Vocation. It can be cast by the enemies clawcerer, compos mantis, monolog, numpton, pogoin' penguin, terrorhawk, and birds of terrordise. ===DQ8=== Jessica learns this spell after investing 26 points into her "Sex Appeal" skill and costs 5 MP. The spell, along with the newly added Kafuddle, is the most reliable status ailment in the post-game, where nearly every monster is immune to Dazzle and Kasnooze. It can also be cast by the enemies Lump mage, Trap box, Lump shaman, Mimic king, and Unholy bishop. ===DQ9=== Fuddle is learned by Mages at Level 19 and Armamentalists at Level 20. It costs 5 MP to cast with a base accuracy of 50%, and will become more accurate once the caster's Magical Might surpasses 50. Once the value reaches 999, the spell will be accurate 100% barring enemy resistance. ===DQ10=== Stub ===DQ11=== Veronica 11 will learn Fuddle at Level 19. It costs 3 MP and targets one single enemy as it first did back in III, and will reach 100% accuracy against non-resistant enemies when Veronica's Magical Might hits 799. ===DQM=== Called PanicAll in this game, it requires the monster to reach Level 12 with 56 MP and 49 Intelligence. It is naturally learned by the biguana, duckkite, jewelbag, madgoose and voodoll, among others. ===DQM2=== PanicAll now requires 89 Intelligence to learn. It is naturally learned by the cragdevil, mimeslime and putrefish. It is no longer naturally learned by the madgoose. ===DQMCH=== Stub ===DQMJ=== Fuddle can be learned by investing 14 points into Fear-monger, 16 points into Hypnotist or 70 points into Γber Charmer. ===DQMJ2=== Fuddle can be learned from all the skills it could be previously, though Fear-monger now requires 8 points. It can also be learned from Muspell for 4 points. ===DQM3D=== Stub ===DQM23D=== Stub ===DQMJ3=== Stub ===DQM3=== Fuddle target's one monster, costs 5 MP, and it's effect lasts for 2~5 turns with the base 40% success chance rising to 60% at 3,999 wisdom. It is learned through the Baramos, Blazer, Hexcommunicator, Nuisance, Prankster, Scruffy, Sleep Counsellor, Stinker, Swirling Dervish, and Thrill-Seeker talents. ===DQTact=== Fuddle is known naturally by Baramonster, Drohl diabolist, Lump shaman, Pickled slime, Terrorhawk, and Trap box at Level 1. It costs 8 MP to cast, has a range of three squares away from the caster in any direction, and has a chance to inflict confusion. Upgrading Fuddle adds a 2% success rate of confusion, up to a max of a +20% at +10. ==Gallery== <center><gallery> DQ3 Spell Fuddle.png|III. </gallery></center> clear DQSpells
