'''Giga Strash''' is a sword skill introduced in ''[[Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai]]'' as [[Dai]]'s ultimate move, a [[Kazap|lightning]]-imbued slash which combines his tutelage under the hero [[Avan]], his heritage as a [[Dragon Knight]], and the powers of the [[Sword of Dai]] into one mighty blow.

While Giga Strash itself has not appeared in the games, it would inspire the recurring move [[Gigaslash]].

In chapter 254 ''The Final Blow!!!'', Hadlar has survived Dai's new [[Avan Strash|Avan Strash Cross]] technique and formed all of his remaining lifeforce and willpower into a blade, a feat which will kill him in mere minutes even if he wins. Dai has not yet recovered enough touki to perform another Avan Strash Cross, and instead calls down a [[Zapple]] spell into his sword. While Hadlar boasts that [[Zapple Strash]] lacks the power to defeat him, Dai instead returns the [[Sword of Dai]] to its sheath, explaining that it has been modified to enhance the power of a [[Magic Sword]] infusion stored inside it.

Hadlar correctly surmises that Dai is preparing a [[Gigabreak]], but still rushes to meet the attack with his own - confident that his Life Sword can match its power. However, midway through Dai's charge his Dragon Crest flashes and he instinctively releases one hand from his sword. Announcing that he will hit Hadlar with "the best attack [he] can do", he switches to a reverse grip and unleashes an [[Avan Strash]] imbued with all the power of Gigabreak, shattering Hadlar's Life Sword and defeating him.

As Hadlar's body begins to disintegrate, he asks Dai if Giga Strash is something he developed in preparation to fight [[Vearn]]. When Dai admits that this was the first time he ever tried combining [[Avan]]'s and [[Baran]]'s techniques, Hadlar simply laughs and says that he feels no shame in losing to someone so ridiculous, offering the hero a handshake before he passes away.

Dai would use Giga Strash one more time in the series, during the final battle with Demon King [[Vearn]].

Giga Strash is Dai's ultimate in the crossover fighting game ''Jump Force''. He first calls down lightning into his sword and then sheaths it while yelling "Right now this is the best attack I can do!", followed by rushing forward to strike the foe with a flurry of punches before finally unleashing Giga Strash from a draw cut.
