Grenade is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series. It appears in DQTact as part of a collaboration event with War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. It is a more powerful variant of the more common Bomb enemy, typically identified by its blue or grey coloration. They often attack by self-destructing themselves. ==Characteristics== Grenades are anthropomorphic blue or grey fireballs with a tiny pair of arms that float in battle. They often display a jagged, toothy grin. In many games, they are simply palette swaps of the more common red-orange Bombs, although in some games such as Final Fantasy IX, the grenade has an armoured design with a smokestack on top of its head. They typically attack by biting, ramming their bodies, casting fire magic, and will sacrifice themselves with Self-Destruct after they have taken enough damage to inflict heavy non-elemental damage to a single character. Some games differentiate Grenades by having them attack with ice magic instead. In some games, Grenades will expand or grow larger each time they are hit, usually exploding after they have grown enough times. Besides the Bomb, other variants of the monster include the Balloon and Purobolos. There is also a much stronger variant, known as the King Bomb or Bomb King, which has appeared as a boss in various games. It typically forgoes the usage of Self-Destruct in favor of other powerful attacks and abilities. ==Appearances== ===Final Fantasy series=== Grenades made their first appearance in the 1988 game Final Fantasy II on the Famicom, along with its differently-colored variants Bomb, Balloon, and Mine. ===Dragon Quest Tact=== Grenade appears as an A-rank monster of the ??? family during the second part of the limited War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius event alongside Phoenix on its banner. It can participate in the Chocobo's Battle Road as a party member. During the Large Battle, Ifrit would summon a group of Grenades after he had taken enough damage. ==Related monsters== *Bomb ==Gallery== <center><gallery> DQT Grenade Phoenix.jpg|Grenade and Phoenix in Tact </gallery></center> ==External Links== *Grenade article on the Final Fantasy Wiki
