Kafrizz is a spell in the series. It inflicts a heavy amount of Fire-elemental damage to a single enemy. ==Localisation history== The Japanese spell Merazōma had previously been localised as Kafrizzle, as it had no higher-tier Frizz variant. However, with DQMJ and DQ9, the developers introduced Meragaiā, the fourth-tier spell. To work around this, the English localisation renamed this spell to Kafrizz, and then using the name Kafrizzle for the newer spell. More recent translated works such as The Adventure of Dai and the HD-2D Remakes now use this newer naming convention. ==Appearances== ===DQIHD=== Kafrizz is an enemy-only spell that can be cast by the Dragonlord. ===DQIIHD=== Kafrizz can be learned by the Princess of Cannock at level 38, while the Princess of Moonbrooke can learn it by using the Kafrizz Scroll. The scroll is found on B2F of the Craggy Cave in a treasure chest that requires the Ultimate key to open. Kafrizz costs 20 MP to cast and inflicts between 160~190 Fire-elemental damage to a single enemy. ===DQ3=== Kafrizz is learned by Mages and Sages at level 36. It costs 12 MP to cast and inflicts 160~200 damage to a single enemy. On the enemy side, it can be cast by EvilCloud, Flying flayer, Baramos, Soul of Baramos, and Baramonster. ===DQ3HD=== Kafrizz is learned by Mages and Sages at level 31, provided their Wisdom exceeds 140 points; if it does not then learning the spell can be delayed up to level 33. Kafrizz costs 12 MP to cast and inflicts up to 208~247 Fire-elemental damage to a single enemy. When cast by enemies, Kafrizz inflicts 132~158 damage to a party member. ===DQ4=== Maya learns Kafrizzle at level 33. It costs MP to cast and deals about 160~200 damage in the NES original and 180~200 in all other versions. On the enemy side, it can be cast by Princes of darkness, Vis magers, and the first, third, and fourth forms of Aamon in DQ4 Chapter 6. ===DQ5=== Kafrizzle costs 10 MP to cast and inflicts between 180~200 damage to a single enemy. It can be learned by both Bianca and Nera at level 33, along with several monster companions. This spell is also used by Bishop Ladja in several cut-scenes. {| cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" border="1" !style="background:#77479B; color: white;"|Name !style="background:#77479B; color: white;"|Level |- |Starkers||-- |- |Barbatos R||11 |- |Minidemon R||25 |- |King slime R||27 |- |Samigina R||30 |- |Bianca||33 |- |Nera||33 |- |Wiz pip R||40 |- |Ghost R||65 |} On the enemy side, it can be cast by Bishop Ladja and Nimzo, dealing between 92~128 damage to a single character. ===DQ6=== Kafrizzle can only be learned by mastering the Armamentalist vocation. It costs 10 MP to cast and inflicts 180~200 damage to a single enemy. On the enemy side, Kafrizzle can be cast by Loss leaders, Mortamor's third form, and Nokturnus. ===DQ7=== Kafrizzle can be learned by Armamentalists at rank 8 and Black Bishops at rank 7. Once again, it costs 10 MP to cast and inflicts 180~200 damage to a single enemy. On the enemy side, it can be cast by Night knights, Sconstrocities, Sulkk, the Fire Spirit, and Orgodemir in his first form at the Malign Shrine. In the final battle, he is able to cast it in his second and third forms. *In the Nintendo 3DS version, it is now learned by Armamentalists at rank 7, along with Sages at rank 7, Druids at rank 2, and Heroes at rank 5. However, it is now an advanced spell and can only be cast as those vocations, unless the character learned the spell as a Black Bishop. ===DQ8=== Kafrizzle is learned by Jessica at level 35 and costs 10 MP to cast. It inflicts 144~160 damage to a single enemy, with the damage increasing once her Wisdom surpasses 480, up to a maximum of 240~260 damage. It can also be cast by the infamous monsters Bishop and Hev. On the enemy side, it can be cast by Snapdragons, Wight priests, Evil Jessica, Marcello, the Statue of Jessica, and Rhapthorne in every battle against him. *In the Nintendo 3DS version, Kafrizzle's base damage was increased to 153~167, with a maximum range of 297~311, once Jessica's Wisdom reaches 580. ===DQ9=== Kafrizz can be learned by Mages at level 53, costing 18 MP to cast. It inflicts 178~201 Fire-elemental damage to a single enemy. It increases in power once the caster's Magical Might reaches 220, up to a maximum of 307~331 at 999 Magical Might. On the enemy side, Kafrizz can be cast by Prism peacocks, Flamin' draymans, Hootingham-Gore in his second battle, King Godwyn in both of his forms, Corvus's second form, Elusid, Baramos from Lv. 1 to 40, Mortamor from Lv. 1 to 15, and Rhapthorne from Lv. 1 to 40. *When Kafrizz is cast by King Godfrey, Tyrannosaurus Wrecks, and Nimzo, the spell will always go haywire, inflicting 148~179 Fire-elemental damage to a single character. Elusid's also has a chance of going haywire, as well. ===DQ10=== Kafrizz can be learned by Mages at level 64 and Dancerss at level 56. It costs 12 MP to cast with a range of 15 meters and a base damage of 152~164 fire-elemental damage, and the initial damage formula is Magical Might x 0.386 + 46 for a maximum of 474~486. Once the caster's Magical Might reaches 871 the range calculation will change to (Magical Might - 999) /4 +474~486 for a new cap of 599~611 at 1,500 Magical Might. ===DQ11=== Veronica 11 learns Kafrizz at level 54 and the Luminary 11 at level 56. It costs 21 MP to cast and deals a base range of 146~170 damage at 287 Magical Might before capping off at 307~331 when their Magical Might reaches 344. ===DQM=== Known as Blazemost in this game, it is an upgraded form of Blazemore. Blazemore will grow into Blazemost when a monster reaches as least level 28 with at least 112 max MP and 146 INT, and deals 180~200 damage for 10 MP. ===DQM2=== Blazemost now requires 263 INT to upgrade. ===DQMJ=== Kafrizz costs 10 MP as in the main games, and has a base range of 141~171. Once the MFamilies's Wisdom exceeds 250, it will slowly approach its max range of 297~327 at 999 Wisdom. It is learned from: * Fire II (60 points) *Fire III (39 points) *Frizz & Bang II (45 points) *Frizz & Bang III (8 points) *Frizz & Woosh II (58 points) *Frizz & Woosh III (15 points) *Frizz & Zam II (30 points) *Frizz & Zam III (8 points) *Frizz & Zap II (43 points) *Frizz & Zap III (9 points) *Hawkhart II (30 points) *Nimzo (50 points) *Über Dark Dynamiter (4 points) ===DQMJ2=== Kafrizz deals 144~159 base damage and has a maximum range of 329~344. It can be learned from all the previous skills as well as: *Frizz & Sizz II (45 points) *Frizz & Sizz III (8 points) ===Terry's Wonderland 3D & Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key=== Kafrizz costs 10 MP and deals 171~189 damage. Once the MFamilies's Wisdom reaches 999, the spell will hit for 361~399 damage. ===DQMJ3=== Kafrizz has the same damage range as in the previous two games. ===DQM3=== Kafrizz costs 12 MP and is learned via the Baramos, Firebrand, Frizz Virtuoso, Impactor, Mortamor, Orgodemir, and Smart Blazer talents. It has a base power of 180, and will deal an average of 380 once the caster's wisdom stat reaches 999. ===DQH=== Kafrizz is the third tier spell of Bianca and can be learned for 16 skill points, requiring her to already know Frizzle. It costs 13 MP to cast. After charging for three seconds, Bianca will shoot a huge fireball at the ground in front of her while she leaps backwards. Upon collision, Kafrizz causes a huge pillar of fire to erupt. ===DQH2=== Kafrizz also appears as the third tier spell of Maribel and now costs 15 MP to cast. It can be learned for 14 skill points once she is level 22 or above and has already learned Frizzle. Kafrizz can also be learned by Lazarel and Teresa at Heavy Wand proficiency level 14. Unlike Bianca's version, they will launch a huge fireball at a long range in front of them and the pillar of fire caused upon collision lasts around three seconds. It now tracks enemies, making it easier to cast than the previous game. ===DQTact=== Kafrizz can be learned by the Dragonlord at level 31, Popp at level 42, and costs 72 MP to cast. An Ability Scroll for it can be purchased through the Legend League Season 1 Medal Swap Shop. It has a range of three squares away from the caster in any direction and inflicts major Frizz-type spell damage to a single enemy. Upgrading the spell increases its damage and reduces the amount of MP it costs to cast. There are also several variations of the spell, which include Myafrizz, Devildragon's Kafrizz, Mystic Legion Kafrizz, Killer Kafrizz, and Demonlock Kafrizz. ===DQTreasures=== Kafrizz deals a heavy amount of Fire-elemental damage to a single enemy, costing 18 MP to cast. It can be learned by King she-slimes, Metal slimes, Slimes, Silhouettes, and Wight kings at level 33, automatically upgrading from Frizzle. ===SSB5=== Kafrizz appears as the Hero Smash's neutral special move in Smash Ultimate. It is the fully charged version of Frizz, and creates an explosive, multi-hit flame upon contact with an opponent for 36 MP. The first hit deals 19% damage, with each subsequent flare searing for 3% and totaling for 31% if all six fireballs connect with an opponent. Kafrizz has high knockback and deals excellent shield damage, but the ending lag the Hero Smash suffers means he can be punished if he casts it at the wrong time. ===AHB=== Kafrizz appeared as a spell finisher for Popp and the Luminary Leader as a Mage. It inflicts magical Fire damage to all enemies in a wide area. The spell was unlockable by receiving the Magical Booster from limited Treasure Hunts. ==In Other Languages== ==Battle Visuals== <center> </center> Clear <center> </center> Clear <center> </center> ==Gallery== <center><gallery> MaribelKafrizzle.jpg|Maribel casting Kafrizz in Heroes II </gallery></center> ==References== <references/> DQSpells [[Category:Super Smash Bros.
