'''Khalamari''' is a large squid {{MFamilies}} with a red body and a blue-purple top, first seen in {{Dragon Quest VIII}}.

It normally uses its tentacles, or [[Tentickle]]s as it calls them, as puppets in front of ships. It is the fully matured form of the  [[khalamari kid]] species. Its name is a reference to the seafood dish, calamari (squid).

Khalamari is the poisonous boss of the Unshore region, and can be scouted post-game. It has the powerful attack [[Tidal Wave]], which can severely weaken or even knock out party members that are not immune to water. Khalamari speaks in a cockney accent, much like [[Yangus]]. The way to its lair inside a cave is blocked by several [[Tentickle]]s, each of which must be defeated before the Scout can continue to approach and ultimately enter its lair.
