The '''Mandrake mangler''' is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}}, first appearing in ''[[Dragon Quest IX]]''. It is a pink-scaled dragon soldier armed with a saber and shield. When it originally appeared, it was given the same name as the darker red [[Mandrake marauder]], but in Japanese, it was a completely new and different monster.

==Characteristics==
Mandrake manglers are bipedal anthropomorphic [[Dragon family|dragon]] soldiers that are armed and ready for battle. Their scales are a pale shade of red. They have large pairs of wings on their backs with grey membranes, a long pair of horns, and scales running down the top of their heads to their tails, all in grey, as well. Their swords and shields are brass-colored, while their armor is colored ivory. In battle, they have a tendency to call for more of their kind as backup.
