==Characteristics==
Miasmas are [[Elemental family|gaseous]] monsters composed of fuchsia/purple-colored smoke that have malevolent red visages. They have a variety of spells designed to debilitate adventurers, being able of surrounding foes in illusions, preventing them from casting magic, and putting them to sleep. The malicious clouds are able to disperse their bodies at will and reform to ambush unwitting travelers. Their method of attack consists of shooting sharp gusts of wind from their mouths. Much like their weaker grey variants, the miasma returned to the series in ''XI'' after nearly a 30 year absence.
