The '''Midnight horknight''' is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}}, first appearing in ''[[Dragon Quest XI]]''. It is an armored [[Gloomy grublin]] riding on the back of a hornet mount.

==Characteristics==
Midnight horknights are more heavily armored [[Humanoid family|cavalrymen]] compared to their infantry counterparts, wearing simple iron breastplates and an iron mask with a curved pair of horns on top, as well as a pair of purple gloves. They have abandoned their chipped swords in favor of wielding jousting lances in their right hands, while their left hand holds the reins to maneuver their hornets. Their hornet mounts are blue with purple stripes, limbs, and antennae while they wear red masks and saddles on the back of their thoraxes for their riders. The hornets are capable of shooting poisonous stingers at their opponents.
