==Characteristics==
Mushroom mages are purple walking [[Plant family|mushrooms]] with darker purple spotted caps and a long orange tongue. They have gained the ability to cast ice magic on their opponents as revenge against mushroom-hunting humans. In the NES version of ''Dragon Quest IV'', they have a slightly different appearance that makes them look more like [[Morphean mushroom|Morphean mushrooms]], with pale green stalks and neon green spots on their purple caps.
