Phoenix is a recurring fire-elemental summon in the Final Fantasy series. It appears in DQTact as part of a collaboration event with the mobile strategy RPG War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. ==Characteristics== Phoenix regularly takes on the appearance of a large fiery bird with multicolored plumage. It has control over the element of fire and its signature attack is Flames of Rebirth, which revives knocked out party members and deals fire-elemental damage to enemies, though the specifics of these effects vary between games. In the few games where it appears, it's seen as a protective spirit, granting light, warmth, and regeneration. It lends its name to the recurring Phoenix Down item, which is used to revive KO'd party members, as well as the Phoenix Pinion and Mega Phoenix items. In some games such as Final Fantasy VIII and IX, Phoenix even has a chance to randomly appear if the entire party has been KO'd and revive them. Its appearance in Tact is based on its War of the Visions incarnation. ==Appearances== ===Final Fantasy series=== Phoenix can be found in the game data of Final Fantasy III as an unused enemy, but it made its first appearance as a summon in the 1992 game Final Fantasy V. Phoenix plays a notable role in Final Fantasy VI where its Magicite is described as a "legendary treasure" that could bring the dead back to life. The Magicite came under the possession of Emperor Gestahl and its legend spread across the world, gaining the attention of the treasure hunter Locke Cole. Phoenix has continued to make frequent appearances in the main series games and even regularly appears in spinoff games, as well. ===DQTact=== Phoenix appears as an S-rank member of the ??? family as part of the limited War of the Visions: Final Fantasy event on its own banner alongside Grenade. It also appears as a boss in the Large Battle alongside Bahamut, Shiva, and Ifrit, as well as in the Beast's Den: Holy. {{DQTactEnemy |name=Phoenix |kanji=フェニックス |romanji=Fenikkusu |sprite= |family=Unknown |rank=S |role=Attack |lvl=130 |hp=1,031 |mp=402 |move=4 |attack=212 |defense=371 |agility=477 |wisdom=472 |weight=50 |bskill1=Cura |bskill2=Flare* |bskill3=Flames of Rebirth* |askill1=Immortal Firebird / Stats Up |askill2=Woosh Res +25 / Stats Up |askill3=Flames of Rebirth Potency +5% / Stats Up
Firebird Flight: When attacking, raises Evasion Rate by the amount of enemies hit for 1 turn. |askill4=Frizz Res +25 / Stats Up |askill5=Flames of Rebirth Potency +5% / Stats Up
Max HP+100 |lperk1=Increases Frizz-type martial potency of allies, including itself, by 20% in a 5x5 square around it. |bperk1=Max HP +30
Max MP +15 |bperk2=Fiery Wings of Legend: At the start of your action on odd-numbered turns, grants Frizzforce to all allies within 5x5 square around yourself for 3 turns (self: 4 turns). |bperk3=Flames of Rebirth Potency +2% |aperk1=Immortal Firebird: At the start of battle, grants Auto-Revive (up to 25% HP) for 99 turns |frizz-resist=Half Res |sizz-resist=Normal |crack-resist=Very Weak |woosh-resist=Half Res |bang-resist=Normal |zap-resist=Very Weak |zam-resist=Normal |snooze-resist=Immune |poison-resist=Normal |physical-seal-resist=Normal |spell-seal-resist=Super Weak |martial-seal-resist=Normal |breath-seal-resist=Normal |hobble-resist=Half Res |stun-resist=Normal |blind-resist=Normal |curse-resist=Normal |paralysis-resist=Normal |confusion-resist=Normal |charm-resist=Super Weak }} ==Etymology== In Greek mythology, a phoenix or phenix (Greek: φοῖνιξ phoinix; Latin: phoenix, phœnix, fenix) is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor. According to some sources, the phoenix dies in a show of flames and combustion, although there are other sources that claim that the legendary bird dies and simply decomposes before being born again. According to some texts, the phoenix could live over 1,400 years before rebirth. ==Gallery==
<gallery> WOTV FFBE Phoenix.jpg|Phoenix, Fiery Wings of Legend from War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius PhoenixFF.jpg|Phoenix in DQTact.
