The '''Picky mole''' is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}}, first appearing in {{Dragon Quest X}}. It is a relative of the [[Mischievous mole]] that has traded in its familiar shovel and wields a [[Wikipedia:Mattock|mattock]] instead.

==Characteristics==
Picky moles are bipedal anthropomorphic [[Beast family|mole]]s with a coat of whitish grey fur and wearing a pair of dark red gloves. In their left hands, they wield a mattock, a type of hand tool similar to a pickaxe that is used for digging, prying, and chopping. They build up their [[Tension]] in battle before performing powerful striking attacks with their mattocks. According to their monster description in ''X'', the picky moles are masters of tunnel construction that have dug countless caves.

Picky moles began appearing in Version 2.1 of the game, being stronger than both their mischievous and mad cousins. They are able to [[Psyche Up|psyche]] themselves up to increase their [[Tension]], building up their levels to [[Muster Extra Strength|high amount]]s when they become [[enraged]].

Picky mole appeared in the second true card pack, "And Thus Into Legend..." after the game's name changed to ''Rivals Ace'' as a super rare card exclusive for [[Martial Artist]] leaders.

Picky mole appears as a C-rank monster of the [[Beast family]] during the second part of the limited ''True Dragon Quest X'' event. It can be recruited from Chapter 4, Episode 2: Shaka's Scheme of the event quests and it can be fully awakened by repeating the quest at any difficulty. The picky mole can participate in the [[Old flame]]'s Battle Road as a party member.
