==Characteristics==
Platinum king jewels are [[Metal slime family|silver-coloured]] slimes in the shape of a brilliant diamond. On their heads, they have red-jeweled golden tiaras that extend to to their culet (the bottom of a gemstone). Like other metal monsters, their metallic bodies make them practically impervious to all harm, usually completely resisting all attack magic and most negative status ailments, and they often flee from battle before they can be defeated. If one can be defeated, it awards an exorbitant amount of experience points, typically the highest in each game and even more than a [[Metal king slime]].

Amongst their fellow metal slimes, they typically have the highest HP, often requiring the player to land a [[critical hit]] to defeat one short of an obscene amount of good luck. Making matters worse is their ability to cast [[Dazzle]] to ensure that melee attackers never even get a chance to hit them, let alone defeat them.

*Platinum king jewels can only be encountered in the highest rank of ruins or ice-type grottoes. However, in an ice-type grotto, they will only appear as companions to other monsters.

Platinum king jewel can only be encountered as a special enemy in the Monster Arena or as a Trial Gate boss. In the Trial Gate, it is faced alongside a [[Gem slime]], [[Emperor slime]], and a [[Darkonium slime]]. All four can transform themselves into looking like a Platinum king jewel to try deceiving the player. It has 3,000 HP, can trample the party and cast [[Dazzle]], and naturally has its [[Metal Skin|metal body]] that makes it highly impervious to taking damage. It drops 60,300 experience and 2,000 gold when defeated.
