The lighthouse's placement roughly corresponds to the Portugese city of [[Wikipedia: Ceuta|Ceuta]], the port that was used as one of the main trading hubs of western Europe during the age of exploration.

The lighthouse is one of the first things players will see after departing the harbor of [[Portoga]]. The [[teleportal]] locked behind a jail door leads to the unnamed shrine in the forest of [[Aliahan]]. The thug lighthouse keeper will tell players of nearby countires and villages they can now sail to, such as [[Lanson]], the cape of [[Theddon]], [[Aliahan]], and [[Jipang]]. He is also the first {{NPC}} to mention the importance of the [[Six Orbs]], stating that the {{Hero 3}} won't need a boat anymore when they assemble the whole set.
