==Characteristics==
The sage's robe has seen three very different designs throughout the series history.
*The original design from the Super Famicom version of ''Dragon Quest V'' is a golden robe that covered the wearer's entire body and included a hood. The edges are in a brownish-orange colour and there is a small green gem on the front of the collar. A rune or magic symbol is embroidered on the front of the robe.
*The design from the remake versions of ''Dragon Quest V'' is a billowing lavender robe that has a golden chest piece inlaid with a green gem, a purple collar, and purple details at the end of the sleeves and the bottom hem.
*The sage's robe from ''Dragon Quest IX'' has a design closer to those worn by religious officials, with a light blue inner robe, a white layer over it, and a darker blue mantle that encompasses the entire robe. It has golden trim and there is also a tippet in light blue and gold that hangs from the front. A silver medallion displaying the symbol of an owl is worn around the wearer's neck.

It can be equipped by [[Bianca]], [[Nera]], the {{Daughter}}, {{Slime R}}, {{Healslime R}}, {{Metal slime R}}, {{Liquid metal slime R}}, {{Cureslime R}}, {{King slime R}}, {{King cureslime R}}, and {{Man o' war R}}. It can be purchased for 12,000 gold at [[Lofty Peak]] and can be sold for 9,000 gold (original version) or 6,000 gold (remakes).

The Sage's robe has a {{Defence}} bonus of +55 and reduces damage taken from [[Frizz]], [[Sizz]], [[Crack]], and [[Woosh]] spells by 25. It can only be equipped by [[Angelo]]. The robe can be sold for 11,000 gold. It can only be made in the [[Alchemy Pot]] and can be mixed to create a [[Crimson robe]].
