==Localization history==
しゃくねつのほのお had previously been translated as the ''[[Scorch]]'' in [[Plus-Alpha]]'s work on the series, which was likely selected due to keeping character-count display limitations in mind for the first projects the group was hired for. These were {{DQ8}} for the PlayStation 2 and {{DQMJ}} for the Nintendo DS.

The Japanese name was given a more elaborate English translation for ''Dragon Quest Tact'', owing to the localization work being performed by a different group and mobile phones not suffering the same display constrictions as the aforementioned hardware.
