At the start of the game, the hero becomes a shrinking violet by receiving the final test of character in the town. The hero must leave the test without taking the purse from the drawers.

Other party members have a chance to be a shrinking violet when talent scouted at [[Patty's Party Planning Place]], except for gadabouts or thieves, depending on their stat bonuses.
