'''Smog''' is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}}.  Although they originally only appeared in the second game in the series, they made a reappearance in {{DQ11}} after 30 years.

==Characteristics==
Smog are [[Elemental family|gaseous enemies]] whose bodies consist of a grey cloud of smoke with a demonic red visage. The noxious clouds are able to disperse their bodies into thin air at will and reform themselves, allowing them to ambush unsuspecting adventurers. They attack by shooting out sharp gusts of wind at enemies.

A pair of smogs appear as a minibosses at the beginning of the game at [[Cobblestone Tor]]. The [[Hero (Dragon Quest XI)|Hero]] must rescue the boy, Cole, from the monsters. Smogs appear later in the game as regular enemies in the [[Manglegrove]] and the Kingsbarrow.
