The '''Stout troll''' is a recurring {{MFamilies}} in the {{DQSeries}}, first appearing in {{Dragon Quest VI}}.

It is among the highest ranking of all trolls.

==Characteristics==
On first glance, the Stout troll looks like a [[great troll]]. However, their tongues are red instead of blue and in some games, their skin is a shade of dark indigo instead of purple. In battle, the mighty [[Demon family|troll]]s boast the ability to save up strength for a smashing attack next turn, along with being able to make deadly {{Desperate attack}}s and shoving enemies out of battle and/or damaging them. In addition, they fight with [[Great troll]]s over who's the top troll in their society. In {{XI}}, the Stout trolls have the distinction of being able to land bludgeoning attacks with their spiked clubs without missing and falling over like their cousins.
