The '''Super Sword of Light''' is the original sword crafted and wielded by the legendary hero [[Erdwin]], sealed away in the Heart of Yggdrasil.

The Super Sword of Light is not the same blade as the [[Sword of Light]], which is a newly crafted weapon made in its image. This is the sword stored in the Heart of [[Yggdrasil]] and, in the ending sequence of Act One, defiled by [[Mordegon]] into the sinister [[Sword of Shadows]]. It remains in Mordegon's possession throughout Act Two until he is killed in his [[Fortress of Fear]], where the {{Luminary}} reclaims it, still in the form of the Sword of Shadows. It travels back in time with the Luminary and is used to destroy [[Jasper|Jasper's]] dark magic that had initially defeated the party in Act One, but disintegrates after the battle. The player then retrieves the pure past version of the sword from the Heart and keeps it for the remainder of the game, where it can be used to dispel the cloak of darkness shielding the [[Calasmos|Dark One]].

After defeating [[Calasmos]], the party returns to the [[Tower of Time]] and the Hero transfers the power of the Luminary to [[The Timekeeper]], who transforms back into [[Serenica]]. The Hero gives her the Super Sword of Light, and she uses it to fracture the Time Sphere, allowing her to go back in time. Unlike the Sword of Light from the beginning of postgame, the Super Sword of Light does not break the Time Sphere, nor does its blade break.

The Super Sword of Light is an S-rank sword that can be acquired as part of the Japan-only limited True Dragon Quest XI event by being part of a guild that has cleared Mega Boss Battle: Calasmos in a Guild Co-op Battle at least once. It has an HP and {{Attack}} bonus of +40, raises the potency of all types of abilities, including Physical, Spell, Martial and Breath for [[Hero family|Hero]] units by 10% and has three slots for Alchemy Effects.

==Trivia==
*The Super Sword of Light does not belong to a forging chain with the Sword of light and Supreme sword of light, being forged a long time ago during the Age of Heroes, which explains the minor physical differences.
**Like the other Swords of Light, however, it bears a striking similarity to the [[Sword of Kings]] as seen in {{Dragon Quest III}}. Additionally, the Super Sword of Light serves the same role in the story as the [[Sphere of Light]].
*The Super Sword of Light shares the same appearance as [[Erdrick's Sword|Erdrick's sword]] but there is no canonical connection between the two swords.
*The basis of its corruption is symbolic of the overarching yin/yang theme of the game; its existence as both the Super Sword of Light and the Sword of Shadows shows that light and dark are two sides of the same coin.
