She minds her [[Torneko's shop|husband's shop]] while he is away.

==Story==
Tess is a very loving wife who is tolerant of {{Torneko}}'s wanderlust and constant forays far from home. At the beginning of {{DQ4 Chapter 3}}, Tessie lives with her family in [[Lakanaba]] as {{Torneko}} tries to earn enough money to move them out of the backwater and open a shop of their own, taking care of their son when he's away and dutifully making a [[packed lunch]] for him each day if he manages to make it home. Tessie is an excellent chef, as her [[Packed lunch|lunches]] act like [[Medicinal herb]]s when consumed.

When {{Torneko}} finally does open his own store towards the end of the Chapter, it's Tessie who takes over its operation. She is able to sell products her husband delivers to her for 1.5 times their regular sale price, showing impressive business skills. In {{DQ4 Chapter 5}} she runs a [[Vault]] and [[Bank]].

In the remake, her son's name is revealed to be [[Tipper Taloon|Tipper]].

==Notes==
*Regarding her appearance over the years, Tess has gone from a middle-aged woman wearing an apron and having short blonde hair tucked under a kerchief to a younger brunette with a long ponytail.
:*Tessie is considered to be very beautiful in either appearance, leading to disgruntlement among some of the villagers of [[Lakanaba]] of how a bog-trotter like {{Torneko}} managed to woo her.
*In {{DQCTD2}}, Tessie is called Nina.
*In {{DQCTD3}}, Tessie is called Nene.
