The '''thinking cap''' is a recurring piece of headwear in the [[Dragon Quest series|''Dragon Quest'']] series, designed to augment its wearer's intelligence. Despite its name, it looks more like a tiara, with a green jewel in the front under three small blue jewels and larger blue ones on either side. Older concept art shows a piece going across the crown, but the modernized design shown in the seventh game does not

It is sold in [[Lofty Peak]] and [[Faerie Lea]] for 13,000 gold, and can be equipped by the [[Hero (Dragon Quest V)|Hero]], [[Parry]], and [[Tuppence]]. The helm is useful for bumping up the loyalty of fresh monster recruits, who will only obey commands when their wisdom is at least 20.

It cannot be purchased, but it's sale price is 10500 gold coins.
