It is also a class of NPC in several games, who usually relay information to the player in rhyme or song. ==Description== The troubadour is a helpful vocation that makes use of support skills in battle. Outside of battle, they learn the Holy Protection spell that is able to keep weaker monsters at bay. After mastering this class, the troubadour can become a Luminary provided they have also mastered the Dancer and Jester vocations. ==Appearances== ===DQ7=== ====Stat Changes==== {|width="50%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" border="1" style="text-align:center" |width="25%" valign="top" style="background:#4682B4"|Statistics |width="25%" valign="top" style="background:#4682B4"|Change |- |rowspan=2|Battles to Master |140 (PS1) |- |85 () |- |Strength | -25% |- |Agility | -15% |- |Resilience | -15% |- |Wisdom | +20% |- |Style | +10% |- |Max HP | -20% |- |Max MP | Null |} ====PSX Abilities==== While the American PSX release of the game used the old localization, the current names are also written for better navigation clarity. {|width="85%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" border="1" style="text-align:center" |width="5%" valign="top" style="background:#4682B4"|Level |width="20%" valign="top" style="background:#4682B4"|Title |width="10%" valign="top" style="background:#4682B4"|Learns |width="5%" valign="top" style="background:#4682B4"|Battles Needed |width="15%" valign="top" style="background:#4682B4"|Target |width="50%" valign="top" style="background:#4682B4"|Info |width="5%" valign="top" style="background:#4682B4"|MP |- |1 |Beginner | |0 | | | |- |2 |Novice |Eye for Distance
(EagleEye) |13 |Field |Tells the player where the closest town is |0 |- |3 |Poet |Peep
(X-Ray) |27 |Field |Allows the player to determine whether a treasure chest is actually a monster or not. Its only use is to make the Luminary V and then a Druid. It takes some time to become a Druid and so has to be started as soon the player clears Alltrades Abbey 7. However, the rewards are great. In the Nintendo 3DS Version, troubadours are able to learn Soothing Song naturally, which is a decent way to restore HP for free in battle. The hybrid skills aren't particularly worth getting as there are similar skills that do the same thing. ===Dragon Quest VII Reimagined=== Troubadour is a basic vocation that protects and heals their allies with a variety of songs and supportive spells. Mastering this vocation alongside Dancer and Jester unlocks the Luminary vocation.
