The Venus guytrap is a recurring MFamilies in the DQSeries, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It is a vile plant MFamilies with purple flowers that is a bane to magic users. Its name is a play on Venus flytrap, a real-life carnivorous plant. ==Characteristics== The Venus guytrap's body is arranged in three layers, with its bottom being its red leg-like roots that it walks about on, a circle of dark green leaves in the center, and a trio of purple flowers with fang-lined mouths, each connected to the leafy section with flexible stems. Aside from attacking with vicious biting attacks, the plant will also seal away the spells of enemy spellcasters with Fizzle. In remake versions of IV, the Venus guytrap has dark pink flowers, teal leaves, and brown roots. It has gone on to make appearances in spinoff games in the series, returning to its original colouration. ==Appearances== ===DQ4=== ===DQMJ3=== The Venus guytrap appears as a B-rank MFamilies of the Nature family. ===DQTact=== Venus guytrap appears as a B-rank MFamilies of the Nature family as part of the limited True Dragon Quest IV event.
