As with the other two vampires, the Vladiator is named after Vlad Tepes III, also known as [[Wikipedia:Vlad the Impaler|Vlad the Impaler]]. The Japanese name, Barnabus, is a reference to the character in the vampire soap opera ''[[Wikipedia:Dark Shadows|Dark Shadows]]''.
