The '''Water Spirit''' is both a non playable character and a boss in the game ''[[Dragon Quest VII]]''.

==Appearance and personality==
The Water Spirit resembles a [[Mermaid|mermaid]], but with a more complete blending of mammalian and icthyan traits. She possesses scaleless blue skin on Her face, arms, and underbelly with a deeper shade covering Her back. Her tail tapers into a large, orange fin with similar appendages on Her her shoulders, forearms, and extended fins stemming from Her hips. Her ears are pointed, and Her cranium grows into a large mass reminiscent of a hammerhead shark's namesake--the separation between this and the humanoid portion is masked with a thin red band set with a large red gemstone. The Spirit received a slight redesign in the [[Nintendo 3DS]] remake, having a human skin tone instead of light blue, and wearing ornate jewellery in addition to bearing a staff topped with a blue orb. The shape of Her head is now more streamlined and the gems set into Her tiara is now aqua in color.

The Water Spirit is the most benevolent of the Children of the [[Numen|Almighty]], dedicating Herself entirely to the preservation of the human race in opposition to the ambition of the [[Orgodemir|Demon King]].

The Water Spirit sleeps in a small bay on [[Estard]] island in the form of a statue, which is visible to the player very early in the adventure. She has played an instrumental role in the life of the {{Hero 7}}, blessing him with Her own emblem.
