The existence of Zenithium is first alluded to by one of the [[robbin' 'oodlum]]s working as a miner in the [[Quagmire Cave]]. The ore is found in the depths of [[Gaia's Navel]] off of the beaten path that leads to the [[Blue Orb]], and when presented to the [[Dwarves|dwarf]] living in his [[Shrine of the Dwarf|eponymous shrine]] he will use it to reforge [[Ortega's Helm]] into the [[Auroral Helm]].

Zenithium appears in the final chapter of the game as the most durable ore avilable to the [[Builder (Dragon Quest Builders)|Builder]]. It is key substance from which the [[Auroral Armour]], [[Hero's Shield]], and many other objects are forged from.

*The first appearance of Zenithium was in the 1989 Item Storybook (アイテム物語), a picture book that explained the origins of several popular items in the series' early days. Zenithium is mentioned in the first story where it is described as a divine mineral found only in the realm of the Gods, and has the miraculous property of healing the wounds of anyone who stays in contact with a piece. It is revealed that the [[Auroral Armour]] was forged from Zenithium, explaining how it heals the wearer with every step<ref>アイテム物語, ISBN4-900527-24-6 C0276 P880E</ref>.
