The Steam release does not include the ''Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End'' text anywhere on the page, instead being listed as ''Dragon Quest Heroes II Explorer's Edition'' This is similar to Dragon Quest Heroes, which was listed as "Slime Edition" and included some low-powered slime-based starter weapons that interact with Healix.  ''Dragon Quest Heroes II'' also claims to contain multiple DLC.

A [[Nintendo Switch]] version was also announced and will be released combined with the first game as ''[[Dragon Quest Heroes I + II]]''. [[Ragnar]] has been added to the main cast of the second game and Malroth can be faced as a superboss, as well.
