Ram raiders and their cousins resemble immense, shaggy [[Beast family|goats]] such as the Alpine Ibex and the Markhor. Though their brownish-orange shaggy coats are more fanciful than their real-life counterparts, the old goats share a similar temperament. In its original appearance, the rams could cast simple fire spells against opponents, but lost the ability to do so when they reappeared many years later in ''IX''. Instead, they gained the ability to psyche themselves up and could perform desperate body slams when the monsters are in grave danger.

The Ram raider is a monster in the series.
