Frolickers are small goblin-like creatures with pink skin and a tough purple hide that covers most of its body and the top of its head. It has a long yellow tongue lolling from its mouth that reaches down to its legs that gives the {{MFamilies}} its name. When the ghouls first appeared, they had light pink skin with a magenta-colored hide and long blue tongues, gaining their different coloration in remake versions of {{IV}}. With their return in {{X}}, the frolickers returned to having their original colors. They can be troublesome blighters in battle due to their ability to cast '''[[Dazzle]]''' to envelop their enemies in illusions and later gained the ability to inflict [[paralysis]] as well with their small, wiry claws.
