The Rotten egg is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series that was introduced in Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.

A mystery monster in the form of a spotty, jaundice egg, the Rotten egg is a potentially unpredictable threat on the battlefield. More hard-boiled than its cousin, Buff and Kaclang helps it weather through danger before hatching into something with more combative potential.
