The Slugger is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VI. It is a bizarre bug monster known for its dancing abilities.

Sluggers are unusual, pink-skinned creatures with an appearance similar to that of an anthropomorphic flea or other type of bug. They are more known for dancing in battle rather than being genuine threats, hopping back and forth constantly and trying to get adventurers into the groove with their jigs. Sluggers began appearing in Version 4.4 of the game. Like their previous appearance, they are able to perform a Sultry Dance and can boost the Tension of other monsters with Egg On. They have also gained the ability to perform an Weird Dance and will call for backup from other sluggers.

Slugger appeared in the 3rd card pack, "Cries of the Phoenix and Mother Earth" as a rare card exclusive for Priest leaders.
