Tackle is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest X . The user launches their body full force at a distant enemy, moving themselves forward and inflicting damage.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Making its debut, it is used by by knight errants, knight aberrants, knight abhorrents, knights of the white rose, Magic Solider Hypnos, Prison Secretary Rosinaze, and Demon gate guard to damage 1 enemy while potentially stunning them, though it is rarely seen.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]

Already learned by Yangus when he joins the party, it is used by pressing the R2 button (ZR in the Nintendo Switch version) to deal a small amount of damage to enemies and is useful in dropping a restless armour monster's guard. However, the invincibility time is short and it makes the user vulnerable to ranged attacks. In the sequel, it is also used by Torneko Taloon and Carver.

Dragon Quest Walk[edit | edit source]

Acting the same as in previous appearances, it is learned by recruited trolls at level 30 and recruited funghouls, living statues, and great sabrecubs at level 50, costing 24 MP to use.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]

Tackle is known naturally by axolhotl, cactuar, grim rider, king squid, maulrus, and tiger jackal at level 1, costing 7 MP to use. It inflicts 110% potency physical damage to an enemy three squares in front of the user and moves forward two spaces, but only if there are no enemies or obstacles between the user and the target.
