The Thunderbird is a member of the Bird family that appears in the Monsters spin-off games.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
The Thunderbird is the electric counterpart to the Firebird and Snowbird, and as such it naturally produces high voltage. The species distinct from the aforementioned birds in that it's body is serpentine with smooth scales and only its head being feathered--interestingly, the monster is wearing an entire Cumaulus around it's waist. While a humorous gag at first glance, this peculiar communalism alludes to the creature's life spent in the high atmosphere.
When the first Monsters title was remade for the Nintendo 3DS, the Thunderbird was given a redesign based on the polygon model of the Snowbird to reduce development costs. This form has dark teal feathers with lightning stripes for accents.
