In the Dragon Quest series, Appraisal is a function that allows a character to examine and identify the properties of any item or equipment. While normally the expertise of a merchant (like Torneko), in some installments the Peep spell enables this function to be performed.
Appraisal indicates any hidden effects of equipment, as well as party members that can equip it, and resale price.
