The plains are bisected by a winding dirt path that leads to [[Caliburn ~~Caves~~]], meaning they must be traversed before the cave can be entered and its test of worthiness taken.

As the very first area in the game, the area is populated with nothing stronger than [[Slime]]s, [[She-~~Slime~~]]s, and [[Mole]]s. Naturally, as it is only a lead-up to Caliburn Caves, the area also lacks a boss. It does, however, feature the only NPC who can be spoken to outside of a town: A member of the guard who introduces the Caves and wishes the [[Hero ~~(Dragon Quest~~ Swords~~)|Hero]]~~ luck as he enters.
