Mimics are powerful monsters that disguise themselves as [[Material family|treasure chests]] made out of olive green wood with silver borders. Its mouth is filled with razor-sharp fangs and hides a set of eyes and a long purple tongue. In battle, it attempts to send hapless adventurers to the hereafter with instant death spells, drain their magic power, or put them to sleep with their sweet breath before performing vicious biting attacks and is able to land [[Critical Hit|desperate attacks]], as well. They often disguise themselves as ordinary treasure chests to try and fool adventurers, but in some games, they can be encountered normally.

Mimics are based on the monster of the [[Wikipedia:Mimic (Dungeons & Dragons)|same name]] from the tabletop role-playing game ''[[Wikipedia:Dungeons & Dragons|Dungeons & Dragons]]'', first appearing in the original ''Monster Manual'' from 1977.
