The '''bodkin bowyer''' (originally '''Arrop''') is a recurring monster in the ''[[Dragon Quest series|Dragon Quest]]'' series.
The '''bodkin bowyer''' is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}}, first introduced in {{Dragon Quest IV}}. These yellow-hooded variants of the [[bodkin archer]] can rain a flurry of arrows on foes and inflict various [[status effect]]s.
 
==Characteristics==
Bodkin bowyers are small [[Humanoid family|goblin]]-like creatures with purple skin that don green robes and yellow hoods instead of the normal brown. Their golden-colored hoods indicate that they are among the strongest of the bodkins, only being surpassed later by the [[bodkin bloodbow]].
 
They carry brown shortbows and their arrows have yellow fletchings. Their arrows are laced with various toxins that can either put unfortunate adventurers to [[Sleep (status)|sleep]], or inflict [[paralysis]], depending on the title, and they also deliver a '''[[Rain of Pain]]''', as well. As a last resort, the bowyers will call for help from more of their kind to assist them.
