The Mega moai is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VII. It is a giant moai head made from red volcanic rock.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Red raging rocks that run rambunctiously right into adventurers, attempt to crush them alive by hurling stony boulders, and can emit a terrifying eerie light from their piercing blue eyes. They are said to have been carved from volcanic rock by sorcerers. When the mega moais returned in X, they also gained the ability to breathe out fierce flames from their mouths.
