The Flython is a monster in the series.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

The flython and their cousins are hybrids of three genus of real world snakes; they combine the size of Pythonidae, the head shape and fangs of Viperidae, and the hoods of Elapidae (cobras). The flython uses its sail-like gills to set glide on air currents on moonlit nights. Starting with the Monsters series of games, the flython was made part of the Dragon family and it gained the ability to breathe out poisonous gas at its opponents.

The wing-like expanses of skin on the sides of these snakes' bodies enable them to sail through the air with astonishing ease. Rumour has it that once they reach one hundred years of age, they soar away into the sun, never to be seen again.
