Alena is a playable character in the both games of the ''Heroes'' series. In the first game, she and [[Kiryl]] are the first of the otherworldly characters who join the heroes, helping them fight off a rampaging [[Gigantes]] that is attacking the city of Arba. The two of them are pursuing a thief, who turns out to be [[Robbin' 'Ood]]. Gauntlets are her weapon of choice and she fights with various martial arts techniques, including [[Multifists]], [[Roaring Tirade]], [[Flying Fist]] and she even has the ability to make clones of herself using [[Divide and Conquer]]. Her [[Coup de Grâce]] is [[Great Ball of Fire]], which first appeared as her special move in the ''Monster Battle Road'' games.

Alena appears as an S-rank character of the [[Hero family]] as part of the limited {{Dragon Quest IV}} event, appearing on her own banner along with [[Armoured scorpion]]. Alena can also take part in {{Ragnar}}'s Battle Road as a party member and she can be challenged alongside him and [[Kiryl]] in the special Three Heroes boss battle. She could also be scouted by the player by redeeming their Dark Lord/Hero Meeting Ticket S.
