It is a leaf taken from a great tree growing in the World of Darkness and is used by the party in their quest to prevent Rhapthorne, the Lord of Darkness, from returning to power once again.

In the distant past, the Darktree leaf was one of the possessions of Kupas, one of the Seven Sages who helped seal away Rhapthorne long ago. Kupas kept the leaf hidden away in case it was ever needed again in the future. According to the elven maiden Raya, the leaf was taken from a giant tree that exists in the World of Darkness. It has the ability to reveal the location of great evil when it is placed on a map.
