The mask is found in the [[Cascade Cave]] in all versions of the game, and in the remakes another can be found in the {{Fungeon 4}}. The death mask has a {{Defence}} bonus of +200 and can be equipped by anyone except for the {{Psaro 9}}....but it is {{Cursed}}.  The side effect results in [[confusion]], similar to the [[Mask of Implacability|mask of implacability]] from the third game. It can be sold for 6 {{Gold}}.

The final party member being unable to equip the mask is due to his innate immunity to being cursed, and as such is the [[Heartbeat|development team]] deliberately preventing him from growing absurdly durable with little effort.
