Characteristics
The Drag-goof is awkward-looking, especially its head, an over-sized affair backed with four large horns and a face which consists of four large whiskers, widely spaced eyes looking off in opposite directions, and an open-mouthed grin that shows off its gums and gaped teeth. It has a somewhat prominent belly, small wings and forelimbs, and a thick, spiked tail. It is primarily blue in color with a yellow-white underbelly.

They are able to perform violent grabbing attacks despite their short arms. Although the drag-goof has not reappeared in the main series, it has made regular appearances in spinoff games.

Drag-goofs can be created by breeding any Dragon-family monster with a GulpBeast. Their default skills are Massacre, LureDance, and EvilSlash. They are known as Mad Dragons in this game, as well as in the sequel.

In addition to breeding a GulpBeast with a dragon, you can now also create a drag-goof by breeding a Gasgon with any beast monster. They have the same set of skills from the first game. Its blurb in the Library states that "Its power is best among dragons."
The MadDragon is a two-star member of the Dragon family with a weight of 3. It naturally learns Poison Breath, All-out and Panic Dance. Its in-game description reads "It's said that the words 'foolishly strong' were first used to describe a Mad Dragon."

Drag-goof appears as a B-rank monster of the Dragon family during the first part of the limited True Dragon Quest V event. It can be scouted from Chapter 2, Episode 4 of the event quests and it can be fully awakened by repeating the quest at any difficulty. The drag-goof can participate in Pankraz Gotha's Battle Road as a party member.

Drag-goon
The Drag-Goon (Boss Garm in fan-translations) is a somewhat stronger version of the Drag-goof, swapping blue for red. Typically appearing alongside strong monsters such as Hoodlums, Drag-Goons will attempt to dazzle the party by blowing up a cloud of sand. This, combined with their habit of fleeing, makes them an aggravating monster to deal with.
