Drag-goons are bipedal red-scaled [[Dragon family|dragons]] with goofy faces, a pair of wings on their back, and a long tail ending in spikes. Their undersides and their wing membranes are a shade of greenish teal. These dragons are somewhat cowardly, typically appearing alongside stronger monsters, and fleeing when threatened. In battle, they can kick up clouds of sand to try blinding their attackers. Their English name is a play on "dragon", "dragoon", and "goon", someone who is silly or stupid. Their Japanese name may be a reference to [[Wikipedia:Garmr|Garm]], a monstrous wolf or dog from Norse mythology associated with Hel, the underworld.

Typically appearing alongside strong monsters such as Hoodlums, Drag-Goons will attempt to dazzle the party by blowing up a cloud of sand. This, combined with their habit of fleeing, makes them an aggravating monster to deal with.
