Fencing foxes are [[Beast family|vulpine]] swordsmen dressed in the manner of an aristocrat. They wear a green and orange striped doublet with a ruff and a long orange cape around their necks, dark blue rounded hose, fuchsia boots and gloves, and a fuchsia cavalier with a long plume on their heads. The fencing fox is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VIII. It is an anthropomorphic fox dressed as a foppish fencer.
