The Fur cape is a recurring piece of clothing in the Dragon Quest series, introduced in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.
It is typically a mid-level piece of clothing designed for spellcasters.
Some fans think that this armor was meant to be a replacement for the Fur coat from Dragon Quest IV, and that the Leather cape introduced in Dragon Quest VIII was meant to replace the fur cape. All of them possess similar appearances and properties, however they nevertheless have different names and are therefore different items. It's sometimes speculated that all three of these items trace their origin back to the Mink mantle from Dragon Quest II, but this is less clear.
